Description

On the site of the castle built in 1202 and almost destroyed during the Napoleonic Wars. The old tower – Torre del Caracol – with it’s beautiful Mudejar room is incorporated into the Parador. The interior is classically decorated with rugs, forged lamps, coffered ceilings, wood and Castilian bricks. It has spectacular living rooms, comfortable bar and a restaurant offering the region’s gastronomic fare. Enjoy a glass of local wine in the beautiful garden.

How To Arrive

The most common route is via the A-6 (Madrid-A Coruña). From Ourense, Vigo and Pontevedra, you can also take the A-52 or the Ruta de la Plata (N-630). Once in town, follow signs for the Parador and/or Torre del Caracol.

The Parador is located in the centre of Benavente and forms part of the former walled enclosure of the town.
